Now that everyone and their mother has an iPod, iPod mini, iPod Photo, or iPod Shuffle, many new hi tech products are coming out that integrate with the different iPod models. This iPod Alarm Clock Radio combines them all together and even has some cool features that set it apart from the rest. This iPod alarm clock made by iHome is called the iHome iH5 and features:
- Apple iPod docking station for recharging iPod battery
- Play music from your iPod through high quality speakers
- Clear AM/FM reception
- Programmable volumes. For instance, fall asleep to 60 minutes of quiet music and awaken to louder iPod music , radio or buzzer
- Gentle Wake peacefully wakes you with ascending alarm volume
- Contemporary design compliments the iPod
- Extra large backlit LCD display for easy night viewing
- Optional full function iH5 remote control (purchase separately)
The docking station can accommodate any model, including iPod Photo and iPod Mini. Never fear tech geeks; a special jack and patch cord allow connection with non-docking iPods, CD players, or other MP3 devices.
One of the best features of this iPod alarm clock has to be the programmable sleep function that allows for 120, 90, 60, 30 or 15-minute scheduled shutdowns; the Gentle Sleep function gradually decreases the music volume when shutting down. It also has programmable volumes that allows you to select a comfortable "going-to-sleep" volume without affecting the "wake" or regular "listening" volumes. The iHome iH5 also has a similar feature to wake you up called Gentle Wake that gently ascends the volume to your preset level so you aren't startled out of bed.

The iHome iH5 iPod alarm clock also features a battery backup incase the power goes out in the middle of the night so that the alarm will still get you up in time to reset all your archaic clocks before work. Another fool proof feature is if the iPod is selected to be the wake up source, but you forget to plug in your iPod for the night or you left it at school the device will default to the buzzer to wake you in the morning.
