Like so many people, I have experienced problems with acne. Although my teen years were largely free of skin problems, at 18 I began to breakout pretty regularly. Since that time I tried all sorts of topical over-the-counter acne treatments like Clearasil and Proactiv, laser treatments, spa facials, and microderm abrasion. (The only thing I refused to try was antibiotics, because I knew those always caused more harm than good.) All of them left me with partial, short term results, and usually a list of side effects.
